Being born and raised an Oklahoma girl, there's not much I love more than a cheeseburger and "queso dip". In Oklahoma if you order "queso", you're basically ordering a nacho cheese dip. I found out very quickly when I moved to San Diego that California Mexican restaurants consider "queso" something totally different.

When I was 18, fresh to San Diego via Edmond, Oklahoma, I went to an authentic Mexican restaurant for a friends birthday dinner. I was still a pretty picky eater at that time… it's true, I am a full blown converted picky eater, turned, I'll eat basically anything! Needless to say, I was overwhelmed by the Mexican food menu so I just asked the waiter if I could have queso. He looked at me really funny, then I said "you know, melted cheese". He literally brought me back a plate of melted, grated cheese. I said "thank you" and never tried to order queso in San Diego again, haha!

This burger is both of those. I also decided to make them into sliders because, well, I'm kind of on a slider kick right now and you'll find out why next week
Ingredients - 10 oz chorizo
- 1 lb ground beef
- 12 slider buns
- 2 cups queso cheese dip
- 1 cup salsa
- ½ cup nacho jalapeños
Combine the chorizo and ground beef in a large bowl.

Form into 12 slider burger patties.

Place on the grill over medium heat for 4-6 minutes per side.

Remove from the grill.

Place on the slider buns and top with the queso cheese dip, salsa and jalapeños.

I still make my queso cheese dip the good 'ol Oklahoma way, Velvetta cheese and Rotel. You're welcome to make your favorite cheese dip recipe, or purchase a jar of queso cheese dip and pour it over the top, either way, it's cheesy deliciousness on top of meaty goodness!

Ok, I'm hungry now! I really wish I hadn't eaten all of these Nacho Burger Sliders already!
