I sandwiched the preserves in the middle of the sandwich so that the bread won't get soggy before lunchtime.

I also tried the sandwich two-ways, both cold, for lunches on-the-go, and grilled for a delicious spin on a hot ham and swiss!

Ingredients
- 2 slices King's Hawaiian Sweet Sliced Bread
- 2 slices swiss cheese
- 1 cup thinly sliced ham
- 2 tbsp apricot preserves
Place one slice of cheese on each slice of bread, then top with the ham.

Place the apricot preserves in the middle.

Sandwich it together and dig in!

This sandwich, served cold, is perfect for lunch boxes for school or work! Grill the sandwich with a little butter spread on each slice of bread on the stove top or in a panini press for a hot lunch, or even breakfast!

Adding the apricot preserves to the middle of this ham and cheese sandwich gives it a monte cristo feel, which I happen to love for brunch!

I made the hot version of this sandwich twice for breakfast last week after creating the recipe for the blog! The sweet buttery bread with the melted cheese, ham and apricot preserves was a winning breakfast combination! I used rosemary ham in this recipe because I love the extra burst of flavor it gives this sandwich!
